Hotaru Hinase, a freshman in high school, cherishes her bonds with friends and family but struggles to envision herself in a romantic light. This perception shifts dramatically upon witnessing Saki Hananoi, a schoolmate, endure a heart-wrenching breakup. Seeing him desolate in the snow, Hotaru’s compassionate nature emerges as she offers her umbrella to him.
Touched by this gesture, Hananoi musters the courage to ask her out. Although Hotaru’s initial instinct is to decline, as she delves deeper into understanding Hananoi, she begins to entertain the possibility that perhaps, in his company, she might discover the elusive feeling of romantic love.
