Set for its physical English release in 2023, “Choujin X,” a creation of Sui Ishida, the mastermind behind “Tokyo Ghoul,” promises a riveting tale. Central to this narrative are Tokio Kurohara and Azuma Higashi, friends with a fervent passion for justice, tirelessly working to resolve the incessant disputes in their metropolis.
In desperation, they resort to a reckless move, injecting themselves with a potent drug that metamorphoses humans into Choujins—mystical beings dwelling on society’s periphery. While Azuma remains unchanged, Tokio undergoes a startling transformation, sprouting a beak. Now, Tokio must navigate the challenges of concealing his Choujin persona, simultaneously confronting a faction irate about their audacious drug use.
